Debt Reduction / Debt Retirement

Currently, SFC has a $20 million campus located on 40 acres in southeast Sioux Falls.  We were blessed to raise $16.8 million through two campaigns.  We now have a debt of $3.2 million to be repaid over the next several years.  Interest and principal payments are currently $287,000 which would be gone if our debt is retired.  Our goal is to retire that debt over the next 5 years, allowing us to significantly lower our annual fund need.

A Gift to the USF Athletic Complex

Our partnership with the University of Sioux Falls Athletic Complex has offered our students an outstanding facility to develop their gifts in athletics.  As a part of our agreement, we have committed $1.5 million by the year 2013.  Presently, we have raised $735,000 toward our goal, leaving us $765,000 to honor our commitment.  Our goal is to raise those funds from supporters in the business community, who also support the mission of the University of Sioux Falls.

Additional 20 Acres of Property

As our school has grown dramatically over the last 10 years, we want to be prepared for future growth when needed.  Our 40 acre property is already landlocked on three sides.  Property may soon be coming available, and our goal is to identify donors who may help us purchase land to ensure our future.

Future Capital Improvements

The core structure of our facility is built to accommodate 1300 students.  As our enrollment increases, we will have to build several classrooms over the next 5 to 10 years.  Additionally, our long-range vision includes a Fine Arts Auditorium for worship, music performances and drama productions.  Our goal is to build a sinking fund to be able to fund those capital improvements without incurring further debt.

Planned Giving Opportunities

To ensure a quality, Christ-centered education for future generations, Sioux Falls Christian Schools has established a foundation.  Our Foundation can be funded with gifts but also through a planned gift.  The principal amount of all gifts made to our Foundation always remains in our fund and the interest earned supports several important initiatives including: tuition assistance, keeping tuition affordable, and debt reduction/capital improvements.  Presently, we have $340,000 in cash and $2.8 million in bequests.  Our goal is to raise $17 million over the next ten years in gifts and bequests.  For more details, please visit our Planned Giving page.
