You are invited to participate with parents and friends to support Sioux Falls Christian Schools. You do not have to have children at SFCS to participate in any of these programs:
Serve-a-thon
The Serve-a-thon is a fundraiser where the student body (grades 1-12) and staff serve at various locations in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. This project gives our students and staff an opportunity to put their Christian values into action and to be a blessing to others. Funds are raised by asking friends and relatives to help support this project as a mini-missions trip to the community. The majority of the funds raised are used to help keep tuition affordable for more families desiring Christian education. Ten percent of the funds raised are donated back to a worthy community organization. Some serve projects include: making treats for firemen and policemen, raking leaves for the elderly, collecting items for The Furniture Mission, visiting with residents of nursing homes, offering to help other non-profit organizations and helping with church painting projects.
Cookie Fair
School families work together each year to make over 6,000 dozen Christmas cookies for sale throughout the community. Because the community has embraced this project, much of the money raised comes from outside our constituency. Over 20 different varieties of beautifully decorated cookies are sold at $6.00 a dozen and carry a message of Christmas hope. All cookies are pre-ordered in early November and are picked up on the day of the Cookie Fair (this date is usually the first week in December). Any extra cookies are sold on the day of the Cookie Fair. Typically, this event raises over $25,000 to help keep Christian education affordable.
Master's Touch Auction
The Master's Touch Auction is held each year in the springtime. This fundraiser includes a dessert auction, silent auction and live auction. Our community business neighbors are very generous each year as they donate many of the auction items. Sioux Falls Christian families and supporters donate items as well. This event typically raises about $40,000 to help keep tuition costs affordable for families.
Golf Tournament
The Golf Tournament is an annual event held in the summer at a local golf course. Community sponsorships help to make this an outstanding fundraiser for our school. It's also a great way for families and community supporters to spend a fun and relaxing day building long lasting relationships. This event is expected to raise about $50,000 this year.
Campbell Soup Labels
Information about the collection of Campbell Soup labels is sent home at the beginning of each school year. The front panel of the soup labels, along with the labels of other products listed on the information letter, are brought to the school. At the end of a specified time they are sent in and redeemed for educational equipment and materials. These can be brought in all year long and dropped off at the office.
For more information, contact Lisa Vande Kamp at (605) 334-1422.
General Mills Box Tops for Education
These box tops are collected and the school receives a refund check from General Mills. Each box top is worth $0.10! The box tops can be handed in to the school office at anytime throughout the year.
