Being the Athletic Director of a great school like Sioux Falls Christian is a true blessing from God. I have the privilege of working closely with every coach of our sports teams, and I am thankful for the dedication and hard work they display in their work with our young people. God has blessed our school with a beautiful new campus, and our athletic program is able to use this facility to train our athletes to be the best they can be.
I graduated from Dordt College in 1981 and received a BA in Elementary Education. I earned my Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration in 2010 from the University of South Dakota. My teaching experience has been in Manhattan Christian Schools, Manhattan, Montana; and in Ontario Christian Schools, Ontario, California. My duties at Sioux Falls Christian include teaching Middle School Math and High School PE and being Athletic Director for grades 7-12. My family includes my wife Nancy and our three children: Nick and his wife Katie, Lisa, and Matt. Our church home is Shalom Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Falls.
I have been in Christian Education for over 30 years and I feel blessed to teach alongside fellow Christian educators in the work of raising students to be Christian leaders in service to our God. Athletics has always been an enjoyment in my life. The life lessons which are learned and the dedication needed for success will remain in athletes for the rest of their lives. Being a part of students’ lives in this way and helping them learn to serve God in all they do is what makes education a passion of mine.
Sincerely,
Jim Groen
