This class is designed to provide basic skills and knowledge of accounting. Students will gain the necessary background for keeping records and understanding the accounting cycle. The course is designed as a basis for further work in accounting - job related or college preparation.
Economics (11-12)

Students will learn to apply economic life skills thereby building a solid foundation for lifelong application of such skills. The Junior Achieve economic curriculum will be used and covers such topics as: Free Enterprise, supply and demand, production, competition, economic indicators, international trade, and the global economy. The class will gain hands on experience by participating in an online business simulation.
General Business (11-12)

This course will give students a better understanding of what is involved in finances for the individual. We will study money problems in regard to cars, food, appliances, and home buying. In addition, we will deal with budgeting, borrowing, saving, insurance, and a variety of everyday money situations that the student will encounter. The course is taught from a point of view that emphasizes the proper use and management of finances. Students are given opportunities in class to act and/or react to situations that may arise.
Occupations (11-12)

The objective of this course is to help students prepare for life beyond high school. Students take self-assessment interest, value, skill and personality inventories. A segment of this class allows students to sample different career options through job shadowing. Guest speakers are invited to the classroom to both provide further exposure to various occupations, as well as share how a Christian can make a difference in the workplace. Students explore current trends and changes in the workplace. Additional work focuses on preparation of job resumes, applications and interviews.
