Grades: 11-12
As human beings created in God's image, it is natural for us to want to know more about His creation. We must first realize that we are fallen creatures and we are not all knowing. It is from this perspective that we seek to know more about God, others, and ourselves. This course provides a basic survey of the study of human behavior. It attempts to expose the student to a broad view of the study of psychology and to whet the appetite for further study. Specific studies in this course include: what psychology is, learning, memory, biological study of the brain, sensation and perception, motivation/achievement, altered states of consciousness, and behavioral disorders. Discussion of each topic is always based upon a critique of that topic from a Christian perspective.
