Our Mission

Our team works one-on-one to improve reading and spelling skills for individuals school-age and older. We use research-based, structured literacy interventions that are proven to be highly effective, closing the academic gap for the learners we support.

What We Do

Support

  • One-on-one tutoring to strengthen areas of reading and spelling. Learners come three times per week for an hour. After 40 hours of support, a retest of skill growth at our center will help you determine if additional support is needed or if optimal levels of reading and spelling have been reached.
  • personalized planning and progress monitoring
  • research-based, highly-structured Lindamood-Bell programs, phonological awareness programs(Heggerty & PAST), All About Spelling, connected/decodable text, Great Leaps

Testing

Two levels of testing are available:
  1. Reading skills assessment: this level of testing is appropriate when seeking support and intervention to strengthen reading and spelling. This testing identifies which programming will be most beneficial, it gathers the needed data to create a personalized learning plan, and is used for progress monitoring. Cost: $250. Time: 1 Hour
  2. Full Educational Testing: this level of testing is appropriate for identifying learning differences, such as dyslexia, that may be affecting academics. A full written report and in-person meeting will give you the information you need to seek appropriate supports and accommodations inside and outside of school or the workplace. Cost: $750. Full Evaluation (approx time: 2.5 to 3 hours)

We aim to be an accessible resource for anyone who would need support for reading or writing.

The support of generous businesses and private donors helps ensure that funding is available for assessment and intervention to those who qualify. We are incredibly grateful for these gifts. They are transforming lives. If you would like to know if your child would qualify for scholarship support, please reach out to us for more information.

Our Team

We are passionate about meeting the needs of learners in our community who are struggling with reading, processing and literacy. We recognize that the ability to read well is more than an academic task; it is a skill that impacts all aspects of life. It affects writing, spelling, math, education, jobs, life, health and self-esteem. Partnering with families and individuals, we want to bring support to others through all our program has to offer. We have more than a dozen professionally trained tutors who are ready to partner with you to meet the needs of your struggling reader.
