We Develop Discussion

Debate

Debate at Sioux Falls Christian is open to all high school students, regardless of grade or experience. Students that are new to Debate, whether freshmen or seniors, will start off competing against other students of similar experience. Even if participating in other activities, students can join Debate as the nature of preparation allows for flexibility.

Debating encourages higher-order and critical thinking skills. It teaches students to structure and organize their thoughts while also developing their analytical and research skills.

Research, reasoning, and public speaking skills are just a few of the benefits that come with becoming a good debater.

We Bring Stories to Life

Oral Interp

The goal of oral interpretation is to tell a story and bring to life the printed word.  Joining the Oral Interp team at SFC allows students to develop public speaking and performance skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.

Participation in the Oral Interp team is open to all high school students.

Oral Interp/Debate class is offered at SFC for speech credit. By participating in the class, students can gain their required speech credit while also being part of the Oral Interp team and participating in tournaments and meets outside of the school day.

Students do not need to participate in the class to be on the team. They can join the team as an extracurricular activity.
