Meeting needs with love and grace.
With the Word of God as our foundation, the SFC counseling department is here to support our students academically, socially, emotionally, behaviorally, and spiritually.
Our deepest hope as a counseling department is for students to have their identity rooted in Christ, know they are loved, and have a desire to live for His kingdom.
How does your story fit into God's story?
The counseling department at Sioux Falls Christians seeks to help students answer this very question.
Creation: We want to celebrate that each student is uniquely made in God’s image. Each student has gifts, a purpose, and should be treated with dignity (regardless of where they are in life). I want to emphasize their strengths and help students recognize how God has uniquely wired them.
Fall: We continue to acknowledge the reality of brokenness – anxiety, peer conflict, family issues, academic stress – and provide a safe place for students to process and work through these challenges.
Redemption: The hope is to see gradual growth when students learn to navigate conflict, practice forgiveness, take ownership, build resilience, or apply coping strategies. This is sometimes a matter of small steps, and it looks like planting seeds that will hopefully grow as they continue to mature.
Restoration: We want to celebrate moments when students make positive changes, step into leadership, and begin living with a clearer sense of God’s purpose in their lives.
