Our generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
GRACE stands for Grandparents in Action for Christian Education. Our goal with GRACE is to develop and promote intentional and supportive Christian relationships between our grandparents and our parents, students, and staff members. We work to establish these relationships through prayer, mentoring, fellowship, and various means of support.
what grace emphasizes
GRACE Prayer Group – Grandparents praying for our school is a blessing. A GRACE prayer group meets regularly to pray over our school and students. All GRACE members can play a powerful role through prayer!
GRACE Mentorship Program – The GRACE Mentorship Group intentionally ministers to SFC students and families through various opportunities: (1) One-on-one with an SFC student, (2) Adopt-a-grandchild (for Grandparents Day, Sporting Events, Concerts/Programs, etc.), (3) Family Mentoring (building a relationship with a family by inviting them into your home and spending time with them), (4) Group mentoring (working with a small group of students to encourage dialogue and fellowship amongst our grandparents and students).
GRACE Volunteer Opportunities - GRACE encourages volunteer opportunities that foster relationships between the generations. Some opportunities include: (1) volunteering in the classroom or cafeteria, (2) helping with school events such as the Master's Touch Auction, Cookie Fair, Reading Extravaganza, and Golf Tournament (3) helping at Nu2U, and (4) helping the Booster's Club with concessions and tickets.
GRACE Commitment to Tuition Assistance - GRACE supports tuition assistance for families who desire a Christian education and are not financially able to meet tuition costs. GRACE members can partner with families to ensure that they have the opportunity to provide a Christian education for their child(ren). GRACE members can also contribute to a general tuition assistance fund used for such needs.
GRACE Commitment to Financial Support - GRACE encourages grandparents to financially support Sioux Falls Christian. By gifting cash or non-cash assets, such as stock, real estate, commodities or distributions from your IRA, grandparents can support the mission and vision of Sioux Falls Christian for years to come.
Who is a Member of GRACE
All grandparents of Sioux Falls Christian students are members of GRACE.
Each grandparent has been blessed with unique time, talents, and treasures to share with the world. We encourage our grandparents to officially sign up with GRACE and to consider offering your time, talents, or treasures at SFC! When we use what God has blessed us with to support others, we see God at work in powerful ways!
the Benefits of GRACE
Connection! GRACE members can request to receive the school's quarterly newsletters and the school’s weekly email newsletters that highlight events and activities at SFC. Coming in 2018-2019 a Grandparents Newsletter will also be available.
Pouring into the next generation! Our grandparents have wisdom and experience to impart to others.
Abundant blessings! When our grandparents share their time, talents, and treasures with the younger generation, the younger generation is blessed and the grandparents are blessed as well!
